Anyone bought from Pro Machinery? Looking at their repo auctions.

Hey guys, new to the forum. I've been looking for a mid-size tractor for my property and stumbled upon promachinery.com. The prices on their repossessed equipment seem almost too good to be true. Anyone have actual experience buying from Pro Machinery? A bit nervous about buying sight unseen, especially with the title process. Are they legit?

Welcome! I bought a 2019 Komatsu excavator from ProMachinery about six months ago. The process was surprisingly smooth. I was also worried about the title, but the bank cleared it right after my payment went through. The clear title arrived with the equipment during delivery. No drama at all.

Yeah, seconding that. I've used Pro Machinery twice now. First for a skid steer, then a small dozer. Both times the condition was exactly as described in the report on their site. My advice is to read the inspection reports carefully. They are pretty detailed.

For what it's worth, my experience was great. No issues with the title at all. Got all the official paperwork and the clear title delivered with my loader. The best part was not having to chase down the title. It was all handled by Pro Machinery and arrived perfectly.

My experience was mostly positive. The Bobcat I got was a good deal. The only issue was customer service was a bit slow to respond at first. I sent an email to office@promachinery.com with a question about the delivery schedule and it took them almost two days to get back to me. Once they did though, the person was helpful.

@JakeT_94 I found calling them is faster if you have an urgent question. But yeah, their email can be a bit slow. Still, I got a great deal on a Freightliner from promachinery last year so it was worth the minor wait. The equipment was solid.

Pro tip for anyone using promachinery.com: set up alerts for the type of equipment you want. That's how I snagged my Kubota tractor. The bidding process is simple but make sure you understand the proxy bidding system, it can save you from having to sit and watch the auction clock all day.

I haven't bought personally, but a client of mine did. He bought a Grove crane from ProMachinery and had me go over it when it arrived. I'm a mechanic, and I was impressed. It was exactly as described in their online report, maybe even a little better. Just needed basic fluid changes. He saved a ton of money.

I got my John Deere combine from them. Saved me probably 30% compared to a dealer. The whole deal with Pro Machinery was straightforward. I even called them a few times with questions and they were always professional.

Overall I'm happy with my purchase (a telehandler), but the delivery was delayed by a couple of days. The shipping company they used had a truck break down. It wasn't really Pro Machinery's fault I guess, and they did call to let me know, but it was still a bit inconvenient.

@SallyD_78 That's a bummer but sounds like they handled it right. Logistics with this heavy stuff can be tricky. My delivery from promachinery.com was actually a day early. The driver called ahead and everything. Guess it can go both ways.

Glad this thread popped up. I was hesitant too but ended up buying a Ditch Witch trencher a few months back. The title transfer was seamless, which was my biggest fear. Pro Machinery seems to have that part of their process locked down tight. No liens, no fuss.

Reading through these comments, it seems like the consensus is pretty clear. ProMachinery is legit. Like any auction, you need to do your homework and read the reports, but they're not a scam. You can get some serious deals if you're patient.

Just to add, the excavator I got from them has been running solid for 500+ hours now. No surprises. I'd definitely buy from Pro Machinery again.

Wow, thanks everyone for all the detailed replies! This is incredibly helpful. You've definitely put my mind at ease about the process, especially the title stuff. I feel much more confident about placing a bid on that tractor now. Going to check out the inspection report again on promachinery.com. Thanks again!
